Hey everyone! You are watching a pilot episode of the new series from 500px HQ dungeon — 500px Portfolio Reviews. In this episode we review 4 photographers who submitted their portfolios for a free portfolio review from 500px. Evgeny Tchebotarev, co-founder of 500px sits with Nuno Silva, Director of Content at 500px Prime, to discuss selected photos and how to help photographers get better. We received 50 portfolio requests from a single tweet, and have chosen portfolios of the following photographers: Matthew Perry, Adrian Murray, Martin Reisch, and Andrew Vernon.

As a Chief Creative Officer I am surprised that these critiques were made without mention to what the photographs were used for (intended for). For example, the child in the shot was criticized because there was darker empty space on the left yet that is exactly where I would choose to place the story in an interesting shot with a child. If a photo is used as the totality of content than you are correct however if the photo is integrated with a story, headline, copy, etc. than I must say I welcome the space.

Too many "uhh's".... in this its making it hard to listen to a little other than that great video ..
Nice video guys! Love it.. Maybe for the next episodes you guys can sort it out after the photo styles (black and white, street, wedding, etc.). Please continue uploading such videos.
