This is not holographic technology, this is a live feed, playing on a transparent screen. NOTHING MORE.
-
Bullshit! You Present this like it was true hologram. Which it is not.
-
I wonder how much bandwidth is required for point to point transmission?
-
Until they make it cheap and easy and mobile, it is just an expensive toy that doesn´t add much over standard HD TV and video-conference. It requires a professional magician set up, that can not be in any High School. For less that 20 cents (electricity cost ) one can experience the whole intensity of an one-hour sport event, or fully learn a subject using a regular TV, or PC running a Youtube Video.

Most of the applications won´t need Holography, and the ones which may, like Surgery learning or demonstration, would require a much more perfect gadget, now it is still short of "reality" to be an adequate substitute for the real thing. Porn is the best hope for this technology, but prices have to come way down. -

I am actually considering investing a 4 year degree on the study on this while it is still young. Does anyone know what I should study and what college in California to study? HIGHLY INTERESTED

If you want hologram on mobile please get in touch with scott at labrat dot no

This would be awesome if the guy presenting walked through a wall at the end *mind blown* and then the other two walked out of the light xD
-
Two words: "holographic strippers."
-
People should talk about "Holography" when it is real video+glass. In this case television could be called "teleportation"...
-
Pepper's ghost has been invented in the middle of the 19th Century. Thank you for this piece of vintage innovation!

Web 3.0!! This type of technology will be the norm!

Awesome!

As I said in 2008, you'll be able to attend meetings with a SmartPhone pointed at a chair. Did Hologram research in 1972. No one wanted to fund it. So few people can see the future. This will replace Internet and was predicted in Star Trek Next Generation when Deanna Troi spoke to her mother.

Also, search YOUTUBE[ 3D display at InfoComm 2010 Las Vegas GEDC0237.MOV ] Same tech precursor. Transparent near-invisible screen, when it gets illuminated with the right wavelengths, it becomes very bright. GOOGLE[ “emissive projection display” (EPD) ] (by Superimaging Inc) Mix that with the right near-invisible glass with the proper UV coating, subtle lighting layering, and the PEPPERS GHOST ILLUSION and ta-da! No tech usually comes into being lacking precursor tech.

GOOGLE[ Peppers Ghost ] I would figure it uses at minimum 3 HD digital cameras which then depth-slice out objects not important to the scene. I also figure it uses a vertical (-shaped curved screen (concave side facing the audience) which has the remote person front-projected onto it. If it is a higher-tech variation of the PEPPERS GHOST illusion, I would have the screen remain transparent non-glossy until a UV-light hits it, which then would allow reflection.
