A roadmap to end aging | Aubrey de Grey
wie Sie tun, machen, Film, Beispiel
http://www.ted.com Cambridge researcher Aubrey de Grey argues that aging is merely a disease -- and a curable one at that. Humans age in seven basic ways, he says, all of which can be averted. TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, and TEDTalks cover these topics as well as science, business, development and the arts. Closed captions and translated subtitles in a variety of languages are now available on TED.com, at http://www.ted.com/translate. So, ten years past. What is the status of the project? Did they succeed in rejuvenation of the mouse?

Between 1900 to 2017 the USA male life expectancy has gone from 46.3 to 76.73,
that's an average growth of 3.84 a year
(1900-2017=117, 76.73-46.3=30.43, 117/30.43=3.84)
Currently Health wise, I have a life expectancy of 71 years according to an online
longevity calculator. I'm 33 years old now so in 38 years when I'm 71 in
the year 2055, assuming a 3.84/yr growth, I will have a life expectancy
of 216.92 years.
(71-33=38, 2013+38=2055, 38X3.84=145.92, 145.92+71=216.92)
Crazy right? Hang on to your britches kids it gets much crazier.
Supposing I do live to be 216.92 years old. I was born in 1983 so the year will
be 2199. Between the year 2055 to 2199, the life expectancy average has added on
an additional 552.96 years, making my current life expectancy 769.99 years!
(1983+216.92=2199.92, 2199-2055=144, 144X3.84=552.96, 552.96+216.92=769.88)
Holy cow? If you don't see a pattern yet I'll continue.
Supposing I do live to be 769.99 years old. I was born in 1983 so the year will
be 2752. Between the year 2199 to 2752, the life expectancy average has added on
an additional 552.96 years, making my current life expectancy 2680.28 years!
(1983+769.99=2052, 2752-2199=553.99, 553.99X3.84=2127.32, 2127.32+552.96)
In theory, I'll never die unless it's an accident, incurable illness, murder or
suicide. -
6 more years, right? i don't think so... :/
-
i hope Aubrey makes it because if not he may be renamed Gandalf the Gray

We are especial, we should live forever... The religions talks about it!!!
-
I don't believe in death
We can live forever
(Lol I am aware it's not the case but you can have dreams and expectations right?) -
We probably could have achieved this a long time ago if we got rid of religion entirely. Imagine the world being a more scientific place of understanding.
-
how would we cite this video APA format?
-
The reason there all over this is because in the next 25 years there will be more old people over 65 than ever before depleting social security and other things and getting closer to a global economic meltdown. So life extension is key to get mostly millenials to work longer to build back up that sweet sweet money.
