You don't have to imagine it. A year after this video was posted a rolls Royce Trent did have a catastrophic engine failure on a qantas airlines A380, flight 32. And it did send shrapnel into the wing and fuselage causing damage to a whole manner of things including the fuel tank.
Sort if spooky if you ask me, how this video put that one -
This is nothing compares to the Concorde, the Concorde uses up 65 litres of gas every second!

This is one of 2 engines that power the A380. The other is Pratt&Whitney. They are all magnificent pieces of machinery.
