I use air drop on my macbook pro to transfer a movie to my iPhone 6+ and I can't find the movie.

I have the iphone 6 plus and the macbook.  They are both on the same wifi network.  bluetooth and wifi are both on.    The airdrop icon is lit up BLUE.  They can't see each other.  how do I fix this?
