The Spotify App has recently had an update which means it is now compatible with BMW cars with the optional 'Apps interface' (included in some Professional media systems as standard). Do you have to go through all these connection steps each time you want to play spotify? I have a 2016 x5 40e and it seems a bit cumbersome compared to playing apple music on iPhone. Am I missing something?

Hi, I have just picked up my 335d and I was wondering how I can connect with the Spotify app so that I can see my playlists? I can play songs through it both via bluetooth and the USB cable yet I can only move forward or back a track and not select playlists etc.

With the options for the connectivity the android phones have much better options and ability why is it that Spotify is behind the times with functionality?
My guess that maybe now almost a year later this works, via wireless connection without a lead too. As my HSV Senator works with Pandora and Stitcher in my pocket.

Apple has a 13.9% market share and Android has a 82.8% market share. It seems utterly ridiculous that BMW assumes that all their customers will have an iPhone when odds are highly stacked against it.
