Building a dinosaur from a chicken | Jack Horner
wie Sie tun, machen, Film, Beispiel
http://www.ted.com Renowned paleontologist Jack Horner has spent his career trying to reconstruct a dinosaur. He's found fossils with extraordinarily well-preserved blood vessels and soft tissues, but never intact DNA. So, in a new approach, he's taking living descendants of the dinosaur (chickens) and genetically engineering them to reactivate ancestral traits — including teeth, tails, and even hands — to make a "Chickenosaurus". TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Featured speakers have included Al Gore on climate change, Philippe Starck on design, Jill Bolte Taylor on observing her own stroke, Nicholas Negroponte on One Laptop per Child, Jane Goodall on chimpanzees, Bill Gates on malaria and mosquitoes, Pattie Maes on the "Sixth Sense" wearable tech, and "Lost" producer JJ Abrams on the allure of mystery. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, and TEDTalks cover these topics as well as science, business, development and the arts. Closed captions and translated subtitles in a variety of languages are now available on TED.com, at http://www.ted.com/translate.

fix my penis turn it to penisosaurous

I think I can propose a name for the "Chickenosaurus". Gallusaurus domesticus.

" ... the poster chick for technology, entertainment, and design ..."
So you're going to jump through all kinds of hoops to genetically alter a chicken to "design" a dinosaur as a way to teach kids about the unguided process of evolution? -
I would like to see pictures of these chickens. Are there any?

build a time machine you can have all the dna you want
-
That feeling of WoW of Trolls eating chicken meat.
-
Could they modify its size though to make somewhat dinosaur size?
-
well at least dinosaurs learned to fly right ???

We have created a more dinosaur like leg on a chicken. 2016 update. We are also getting closer to a tail...

This is awsome

further proof that the best scientists are avid dreamers.

"Fix the chicken"

They should have a live stream of the first dino chickens hatching.

Okay, Indominus Rex from JW did'nt know what animal it was and could not regulate itself according to JW. Would this also be possible for the fearsome chickosaurus? Starting by picking the ground and slowly chasing domestic cats?

Can't you genetically modify the chicken to make it look more like a dinosaur

'Little Jack Horner sittin on a corner with no shoes and clothes, now this ain't funny but he took his money and sniffed it up his nose.'

when you find some bones in the dirt, all you know is....it died...
you cant prove those bones had any kids, let alone different ones -
ya, it would be cool if they could make a chickenosaurus . of coarse it would't be a real dinosaur because it would still have a chicken genome, like babies born with phocomelia are sill fully human not new creatures because mutations can't create new information; they just reshuffle, misplace, turn on or off, or lose information that is already within the DNA.
