Carl Sagan's: Cosmos Part 2 - One Voice in the Cosmic Fugue
wie Sie tun, machen, Film, Beispiel
Sagan discusses the story of the Heike crab and artificial selection of crabs resembling samurai warriors, as an opening into a larger discussion of evolution through natural selection (and the pitfalls of the theory of intelligent design). Among the topics are the development of life on the Cosmic Calendar and the Cambrian explosion; the function of DNA in growth; genetic replication, repairs, and mutation; the common biochemistry of terrestrial organisms; the creation of the molecules of life in the Miller-Urey experiment; and speculation on alien life (such as life in Jupiter's clouds). In the Cosmos Update ten years later, Sagan remarks on RNA also controlling chemical reactions and reproducing itself and the different roles of comets (potentially carrying organic molecules or causing the Cretaceous--Tertiary extinction event) If you like this series, buy it! - http://www.amazon.com/Cosmos-Carl-Sagan-DVD-Set/dp/B000055ZOB - http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/4774/cosmos-carl-sagan/ Content property of Entertainment One (www.entertainmentonegroup.com)

What does it tell you that you're watching a film first shown on TV even before home computers became common, created by a man who died before the breakthrough of the internet, on this very internet, on a computer or smartphone screen? What does it tell the older ones that his voice reminds them of the best of their childhood? What does it tell the younger ones who weren't even born while he was alive? What does it tell the old folks with fond memories of watching this together with their children and parents? Maybe that here was a man who really made a difference?

One of the better videos on YouTube. Thank you for sharing!

I saw it,.. & it was good.

Where can I find part 1?
-
I have a Telescope because of Carl :)
In fact, I already had one 2 (two) years Before Cosmos came out in Sept 1980.
But, when I first saw it at age 15, my interest in Astronomy skyrocketed.
Now, I am on my 3rd (third) Telescope and still want a bigger one! LMAO :P
RIP Carl and thank you for unlocking the Cosmos for me! :D -
dude, what
-
Anybody knows what is the music that starts at 2.35? Thanks

Does anyone where the entire series can be found ? I'm dependant to Carl's gifted voice, I repeat it outloud to myself when walking in the morning

Personally, I think this is the best science programme ever made. Carl Eagan is an incredible teacher. The way he presents this is captivating. Just how brilliant he was is shown by the remake. Using largely the same material, updated to account for later discoveries, Neil deGrasse Tyson did a workmanlike job but I think it missed the Eagan touch to make the magic.

WOW....FASCINATING
-
HOLY SHIT- at 30 -31 Sagan claims that people are not apes. OMG
-
I think Carl Sagan may be cleverer than me.
I am glad there are people cleverer than me.
It is nothing to get mithered over is it? -
On my channel I created a playlist of all the original Cosmos episodes that are still playable after the copyright strikes and they are all untampered with. It includes episodes from this channel and others. I thought it would help so you don't have to search all of youtube for still playable episode where the video or audio isn't changed. Enjoy.
