If you've never eard a violin 'live', I can tell you that it sound absolutelly different from all recordings (no matter how good they are)... it has much more depth to it.

@conillusionist Why must it be your preferred style. When TED invites artists on, they tend to be progressive ones. There have been plenty of jazz, rock, and folk, and at least one hip-hop artist here. TOP 40 , by it's very nature is counter-progressive. Afraid to try new things until the old ones stop working. Contemporary jazz and classical artists get the lions share because, by their nature they are the most progressive. Even the most progressive pop and hip-hop rely on their tired cliches.
