Fix for Pinnacle 16 on Windows 8.1

This really worked! So far the program is working! I have tried this fix before with another video and it did not work. It was not detailed enough and it had you putting the number in a different place! Thanks so much!!! Oh, yeah I didn't download the fix program. It worked just after changing the numbers. I am using Windows 10.

If nothing works after all information derived from this video, erase every file containing pinnacle and try custom installation.Install only the basic part no the extra ones. Afterwards change the VersionNT and your there...

Is there a way to install Pinnacle Studio 16 ultimate to work with window 10 my pc did not read the CD

I used advice from below by deleting my VersionNT, creating a new one and putting in 603, rather than modifying the one that was already there. It worked for me!
I honestly thought I was going to have to buy a newer version of the software, Thanks!

You sir are a god. I had upgraded to Windows 10. While Pinnacle 16 was working, I was getting a dialog box that told me some or all of the features may not work. I had the "OK/Cancel" option and everything seemed fine by clicking OK. I even produced a Bluray program without any obvious issues. For whatever reason, about a week ago, I would no longer get the "OK/Cancel" option. Just "OK". When I clicked that, it just exited without ever trying to load the program. I had already installed the patch when it first was available, so I did nothing other than add the "VersionNT" string to the registry, and now it works! Hopefully not some fluke and it will continue to work. I've been using Pinnacle from the beginning, but if I'm forced to buy another version I'm done with them. So anyhow, THANK YOU!!

Also if you have the file VersionNT already in that file dont re edit that one delete it and make a new one and do exactly as he does

I tried this fix 4 times and it didn't work for me.Additionally , when I clicked on the Pinnacle icon to open the program , which it didn't , it froze my screen.Any other ideas

Thanks a lot man! I've had the same problem but on Windows 10. Your fix works FINE on Windows 10. Now I can get back to edit videos. I tried fixing it in properties by using Windows 7 compatibility mode, didn't work AT ALL. When I checked back today Windows 7 mode was activated and everything worked perfectly. I guess my mistake was to try to start it first, then going in compatibility mode. Well it saves the day and a couple of dollar bills!

Too scary to change the registry. Microsoft wouldn't help me do it either. I will go to Best Buy and buy the latest version.
