Fix Nexus 7 2013 Auto Rotation Freeze(easy hw fix)
wie Sie tun, machen, Film, Beispiel
Sometimes my Nexus 7's Auto Rotation just freezes and it just doesn't work. After a reboot however, it works for a while. Check out my video if you have a similar issue and hopefully this should fix your problem. I found this solution on Android forums. Here's the link to the actual thread: http://goo.gl/uNtBd1 Check out my new video for a better version of this fix. I just improved it slightly: youtube.com/watch?v=cOnccu6Nbl0 30/05/15 It's been 8 months since I've done this. Never actually had serious rotation issues since then. I opened up the panel last week. I noticed two small foam pieces on the bottom of the panel similar to the top. I've stuck a piece of cardboard on them too as I did with the top ones in the video. I recommend you do it too.

I tried the cardboard trick but no luck. Did a factory reset and the rotation worked immediately. Makes me think it's something to do with android OS and updates. I disabled the OS updater ConfigUpdater to see if that would prevent a relapse. We shall see.

Excellent - Worked first time - Thanks for sharing, that was an annoying problem, so easy to resolve thanks to this video.

the reset works too. thanks!

Tried it, few months later auto rotation stopped working again. So, I did the method again to see if it would help and it did. I'll be checking if this stops working again. But thx for the video!

Thank you VERY much! This issue was driving me crazy! The first time a 'software' fix seemed work but this time it wouldn't. On the Google Play Store there is software you can buy that has a 'try before you buy' fix but it failed recently too. Your fix seems to be the answer for my problem as it started working right away. What I did to make the 'forced contact pad' was to use five 'skinny' layers of electrical tape, placed exactly where you showed they should go on the back, not the 'works' side. And the same height as that other pad in there, which about five layers of electrical tape (cut almost in thirds from the standard 3/4 inch or so roll- don't use the full width, when trimmed each strip was about 1/4 wide and as long as your pad was) matched up to that.
Second, it was much easier for me to separate the two parts by adding some 'flex muscle' to the case, but as you stated, starting on the sides and making the bottom the last one to separate works best.
THANK YOU! (I'm not sure why anyone would give the video a 'thumbs down'!) -
great fix! I used two pieces of electrical tape, one on each side and that fixed it quick. I will look into pieces of padding if it started acting up again.
Thanks so much! -
Worked for me as well. I made the spacer out of multi layers of electrical tape stacked and cut to size. The very first layer has the sticky side down so it was easy to attach the spacer to the cover. Maybe 10-12 layers stacked up produced the desired thickness as shown in your video. Thanks for your help.

Thank you very much for this, I just fixed mine with a piece from some 3M Mounting Squares I had laying around.

I actually had to duct tape down both flat cables onto the entire length of the battery. Added a second layer of tape on top of the first tape.

Thanks for this clear tutorial. I have one minor correction to terminology: What you use with a guitar is "pick." A guitar PRICK, on the other hand, would be Ted Nugent.

I tried this and it worked but after the next boot, it stop working. Now I just use an app to help rotate the screen whichever way I want. Such is life.
