Freeskier survived avalanche accident with ABS Airbag
wie Sie tun, machen, Film, Beispiel
Freeskier Aymar Navarro was at a film shoot in the Spanish Pyrenees when he suddenly triggered a massive avalanche. A camera team around Nil Torremocha from bumpyfilms.com was supposed to capture Freeski material for a TV commercial for a car brand. The conditions seemed to be perfect when spanish fresskier Aymar Navarro began his descent from top of 2,802-meter high Tuc de Barloguera. The camera crew filmed his ride from the helicopter flying above him when suddenly the snow started to move and Aymar was caught by a massive avalanche. The 24-year old survived the accident with luck and his avalanche airbag. We want to clarify that the most important thing is to avoid an avalanche in the first place. But even when you are well trained and informed there is always a residual risk. In case something goes wrong it is important to be as good equipped as possible. An avalanche is always a life threatening situation and you should never take a higher risk.

Only I don't see the moment he open abs. He is falling with abs off, what is he waiting to open? Only at the end video I see ABS open. While rolling abs is off it's clear that in the video.
Does he open it when he was already under snow? -
someone in the spring find that nice pair of atomics

I don't know if the skier has more chances to survive with these Air Bags, thanks to speed , sliding and carving, rather than a simple walker, slower and more static on his snowshoes.
I practice snowshoeing and telemark.I am insterested. -
A good testament for the value of airbags in our big mountain ski gear. And no, I don't have one -- yet.

I had no idea that's what avalanches sounded like. I'm tempted to buy a bag of bbq chips and settle down in one.

Avalanches are not scientifically any danger at all. They are only snow...and snow is soft.
If confronted by an avalanche just square-up to it like a man and use the power of science to make it go round you.
Easy. -
Just wondering, how long is the air in the balloon if you pull it out?

Some people... How can you even think that this was set-up? Great video tho...loved it!!

Can't tell if it has been done on purpose or not but one thing is sure, it was possible to get out of the avalanche at its begining, he chose to be quicker than nature, this is called a fail
