mybe is dumb question but can you setup that all 3 intake valves together on low rpm all the time? basicly that vtec is opened all the time?

Cause it will kill fuel economy. Honda wanted to create an engine that basically acted like two engines in one, which was impossible before VTEC. The DC2 Integra Type R motor only produced like 130hp when below 4500 rpm, but once VTEC engages it produces 197hp and turns into one badass engine. Its like a Jekyll and Hyde type motor.

is it true that vtec engines burn little bit oil?

Mostly because of air to fuel ratio. Vtec allows more air to come in for a leaner combination. Leaner air to fuel ratios tend to make engines unstable, shake and rattle at lower rpms. That is why generally, vtec engages in higher rpms. Otherwise, if vtec engaged at 1000 rpm, your engine would idle very rough, which would make for an uncomfortable car.

so, money wise about $1500. depends on who you know. since it's an import it costs more too.

a stock b16a in a crx should run 15-13's variables being tires/slicks, clutch and most important the driver.

torque is time and whp is speed. there is a inline 4 honda motor if built right can be a 9 second N/A car. ;)

so it hold the intake valve open for a little bit longer. so more gas gets into the combustion chamber giving more power. is this correct???

it would actually produce less power because the timing would be rough, have you ever heard those muscle cars that idle like crap? its because they have a big lift cam that is made to run smoothly at higher RPMs than cams with less lift.

vtec helps power when you are at high rpm. the car has good power at low rpm but bad at high. so they put vtec on the car so it does good in both

High lift cams make LESS power at lower RPM, so making VTEC switch earlier will just make the car slower.
