The bullet points for the supercharger say that supercharging loses 600 hp as a "parasitic loss", can someone explain this? Is this because more energy is lost as heat instead of being converted to horsepower?

I was really young when I saw Top Fuel cars for my first and only time, at Santa Pod here in the UK. I cant remember much but what I do remember is the whole earth shaking thing being 100% accurate. They are fucking crazy

There really isn't anything like seeing these cars go at it at full speed, so intense and you feel your body shake, legit feels like a mini earthquake

The last time I saw these race live was in about 1994, what I remember the most, besides the speed, or the smell, was the sound, it went through you. You didn't just hear it or feel it, like a bomb going off beside you except instead of a split second sound wave, it was seconds of sound wave going through my body fricking amazing. And this description can't really explain it.
The secret about Nitromethane is that it carries its own oxygen. Fuel is worthless without oxygen. Combine that with about 5 bar of compressor air pressure, and you gett plenty of power.
