And while it might just seem like you are asleep for that time, you actually aren’t. What’s going on? Steven Zheng explains what we know about the science behind anesthesia. I'm having teeth removed and going to be under anesthesia but I'm scared of getting an iv. For anyone who's had an iv, does it hurt and how bad?
-
And that's why the anesthesia doctor gets paid more than many surgeons.

The fringe beyond death, through the most complex of rituals this operation brings death, and then the resurrection of the subject as a perfect being

I went for my first surgery due to my hip injury last year. I nearly completely lost control to my left leg if I went to the hospital more late because the inside of the spine bone (column?) kept poking my nerve. The incident was just small. I fell on my hips like 3 times in a week but I guess it went serious because later of that time I went to do my internship at a kindergarten where i involved lots of physical movements. I didnt go for a checkup because I wanted to finish my internship first which it took 4 months or so (includes on writing a research report) For me, the experience of getting anesthesia was okay. I felt like I blinked for a second and when I opened my eyes I was already being lifted up to change to my ward bed from the surgery bed but I was not completely conscious yet. All I could remember the head surgeon of the team asked me to follow him to count until 5 and I only counted to 3. Nurses said after the surgery was done I was mumbling calling my parents, how I missed them and I wanna go home so bad. I even nearly cried. They had to keep telling me that my parents planned to meet me the morning after the surgery (it was past midnight when my surgery ended)
I laughed that morning with my parents because before I went to the surgery room I was the one who told them not to wait for me and just go home 😂 -
I went under for ACL replacement, first was the intravenous which kicked in and made me paranoid and uncoordinated , then was the respirator which took a good 5 seconds to hit, I woke up high af thinking I could move my knee and after a full bend of my knee the pain hit me so hard I fell back to sleep lmao

When I had my gall bladder out, a male nurse...who happened to be gay shaved down my abdomen. Later, when I was on the table, someone shaved me much lower. I know whoever did it probably couldn't have cared less...but I still feel weirded out by it. :- /

Yeah, anesthesia could be awesome most of the time, except for the times that it doesn't completely work. (I'm laughing right now but it's a scary experience.)
I was going under anesthesia but it didn't fully take over, just my body, so my body was completely shut off and my brain couldn't send messages to it, to move, talk, or anything like that but I was still conscious when the doc' stuck a fucking breathing tube down my throat and then started to get to work. Paralyzed, I was only able to watch as my throat contorted with the tube but didn't gag because. . . well, my body was taken over by the anesthesia.
Nowadays, I laugh about it, but it took a while for me to stop having nightmares about it. :P -
I lost my dog 3 weeks ago to anesthesia 😢😢 stupid Vet. He was there to get fix nothing major😢😢😢

There have been cases where the drug that is supposed to keep you from moving is active, but the drug that makes you unconscious is not, resulting in a situation where the patient looks like they are asleep but are totally aware of everything going on and can feel all of the pain, including all of the incisions. Can you imagine?

can anesthesia have an effect on our organs or body after?
