How this case is prevented ?
- Another server having copy of the certificate ( of https://www.foo.com which foo sends to everyone when visited, ) to its users and pretending to be foo.com,

How can all browsers ship with all issued certificates ever? There must be some sort of a way for a browser to update its known certificates, or check dynamically. Can you explain a little more on how the browser verifies valid certificates?
