Thank you for making this simple. I am not familiar with digital recording I'm old school and trying to get someone who knows about adding an interface using ADAt has been tricky.

Old but gold.. I was thinking about buying a new audio interface and thanks to this video you made my decision a lot easier!! Thanks Graham you're fantastic 💪🏻

do you know if it's possible to use ada8000 with digi002 in stand alone mode?
I know this is possible by digidesign manual passing through ch.5-6 but i don't get any signal by it.
Can you also explain the difference between setting the ADA as a slave or master ADAT in? -
So does that mean that if I connect this to a small interface as long as it has the ADAT in and it will turn that interface from 2 channels to 10 channels basically?

Hey Graham, how do I connect a Apogee Rosetta 800 to a digi 003 and a Avalon vt 737 Compressor via a beringer patch bay and get everything to work in Pro tools?
-
I got an ADA8000 based on the word of a few of my favorite recording gurus. At $39 it seemed like a steal. Once I put the thing into my rack and connected it via optical to my Pro40, the thing sounded like hot garbage. It didn't occur to me that the Behringer's clock would be the one my interface needed to sync to, but I only had a hunch that a sampling issue was taking place because the audio almost sounded bit crushed. I'm glad I saw this because I was going to have to call up the retailer and fight for the cost of the shipping to be reimbursed.

if i weanna use my umc1820 as master and umc8200 as slave on the back of the 8200 on the sync section i slide all the way to the left where it says slave?

hi. dont i have to cable out every channel to my interface's inputs? is it all coming already through the optical cable?
-
hey i know this may sound dumb , but can u use the 002 with cubase?
-
hei graham...i wanna ask you how to connect my presonus fs 26x26 and projectmix io through adat connection...i already connect them with toslink cable..but when i open hardware in setup menu in protools. the clocksource menu doesnt appears...please help me out
thanks before -
Hey Graham, I have the 002 and 8000. After setting up, I hear cracks and clicks....I tried making the ADA 8000 the slave (adding a second toslink) and the crackling went away but there was a hum. I continued to try changing the settings in Pro Tools LE but now (slave or master) I get nothing but cracks and clicks. Any Ideas? Thanks

hi there , any way to ADAT connect my m-audio project mix console to my UAD Apollo quad interface ? appreciated your help
-
very good!

What would the master clock be if I wanted to use the inputs on my 002 plus the ADAT inputs. For example, Inputs 1-4 on my 002 along with the Behringer, for a 12 mic drum kit.

I have the ADA8200 and the Digi003 Console running into a iMac with PT 11.3. I tried to set it up just like your video show's but I don't have Optical as an option in the Clock Source. I did change the Master in the back of the 8200. I am a bit new to this but when I plug everything in as you have it, I lose the 003 interface and it goes to Airplay. Can you help me with this?

got the ADA Inserts ?
for 19" Stuff -
I'm trying to send 8 channels from my interface back into the console via lightpipe, with an alesis HD24. I have the ADAT out put to the ADAT in of the Alesis and the proper connections from outs 1-8 of the Alesis sent back into the console through the line outs and I"m not getting any signal in it. whats the problem here? do I need to connect the world clocks together?
Is each of the 8 ADAT channels stereo or mono?
I see you slaved your audio interface to the ADAT preamp -- wouldn't it normally be the other way around?
Somewhat unrelated but have always wondered… is it OK to install rackmount devices right on top of one another in the rack? I always thought you were supposed to leave open space between units for ventilation
