If u have this problem u could try this or try what I did I fixed my home button by just taking off my case and slightly pressing down on the back bottom of my iPhone 6 on the back of where the home button is located and u should hear a click I guess the last time I dropped my phone it got out of place but I clicked it back in I hope this helps :)

sorry dude but i think your home button was just dirty.... the reason why it didn't work when you pressing down with your other fingers because when you setup your touch id you can only use one, which most people use their thumb.
