Hey how are you? I followed all the steps multiple times but my PS4 cant pick up the IP address. It fails everytime. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks.

I dont have the Network Sharing tab. Is that a must? and if so how do I enable it. currently im using my tethered phone to use the internet on my laptop. I dont have a home wifi network.

If you cannot get this to work then try waiting til the last step to turn on the ps4. If you listen carefully and follow his directions you will get this to work!
I'm using this same setup but I can't seem to get the necessary ports to open so "in-game" chat will work. I've tried forwarding the ports under the sharing options settings and also connecting my computer to a router and then the PS4 to the router with no success. Do you have any solutions to fix this problem? This would all be working perfectly if I could just get voice chat to work!

this video was horrible, I searched up phone to ps4 and what I got was tethering phone to computer to PS4, I'm trying to go straight from my phone to the PS4 no computer involved

here you guys go, no credits to me but the original owner of these comments..........For those of you trying to tether your PS4 to your Android, I have gotten it to work almost seamlessely. The first thing you need to do is make sure you're on an unlimited data plan. Next, root your phone. This only workson arooted device. Once these two things are done, download WiFi Tether from Google Codes, not play store, or just google search WiFi Tether. Once youve gotten WiFi Tether to work on your device, you then need to go to playstore and download (OpenVPN Connect", (EasyOvpn), and (OpenVPN Settings). once this is done, first, EasyOvpn ~~Tick United states setting, second~~ OpenVPN Connect- Tick connect, third- OpenVPN settings- Tick OpenVPN. this worked for me with no tweaking. Be sure to grant root access upon opening apps. i am doing this on metro pcs with the samsung exibit sgh-t599n. rooting, gaining wifi, and getting aps running can be done in under 10 minutes. good luck and see you all on psn.
Idk if you have an updated video. But you should do it with the latest windows updates. At least from what I could find, they do not have the select ethernet connection anymore. All I had to do, was make sure it was checked, and then set my internet on my ps4 to connect to lan cable. Works great. 13mbps is much better then what I was probably getting using the hotspot.

Didn't work for me. Connection detection on PS4 took forever before failing to connect.
this method did not work I have two different connections one for ethernet and one for pda net and the ethernet has no access so unless you're bridging a connection using wifi on pdanet I don't see how you're doing what you're doing because you can't bridge a usb tether connection and your method isn't working maybe make a new video that's a little more detailed and it's a complete walk through of what was done being that what you did in this one was slim at best and you just said what you did and didn't show the creation of the internet connections.
