How to update/Flash the BIOS on an MSI Motherboard
wie Sie tun, machen, Film, Beispiel
This are the steps I take to flash the BIOS on my MSI Z87-G41 motherboard but should work with other MSI motherboards that include the bios and flash utility in a zip file, often if downloaded directly from the MSI website. Text tutorial: http://emmanuelcontreras.com/content/how-update-bios-msi-z87-g41-pc-mate-motherboard Tips on using M-Flash (From Ronald1Andres2 in comments): If you have M-Flash and have your USB plugged in but it doesn't recognize it, you must format your flash drive as NTFS and then add the files. If you only have an executable: Option 1 -- Run the executable from within Windows OS. -- Tip from bassduderocker Option 2 -- Go to MSI webpage for that board, and got the newest BIOS file available. When I opened the ZIP, there was only an EXE file (E7721V23), no .130 file. I used the bootable flash drive, per your instructions, and opened the EXE file in DOS to install it. -- Tip from Nicole Kiser Disclaimer: I am not responsible for broken motherboards, follow steps at your own risk.

I suffered so much trying to figure out how this AMI BIos thing works. I have updated bios before on Gigabyte and Acer motherboards with ease. But this MSI gave me a headache until you showed me the way. You are a boss!! May thanks and greetings from South Africa.

Can i update the bios of other than MSI (eg: Asus , Gigabyte) using this method?
Just using the AFUDE238.exe and the latest version of bios. (not using M-Flash) . Will it work? -
Great video but I need some assisstance. I have an MSI 990FXA-GD65 and i download the files and i only get one file in there called E7640VK5.EXE. I then plug it into my motherboard and i don't have the "Boot Mode Select" option. What can I do?? Thanks

The file I downloaded doesn't contain a .exe. I imagine they expect me to use the M Bios flash feature, but every time I do, it restarts and the screen just stays blank... any idea peeps?

Can an outdated bios prevent windows from being installed? Mine stops at expanding files. I have swapped out optical drives and it still does this. Won't boot from usb, both are iso files and were formated with rufus. Do I actually need another pc to create a flash for the bios? There's got to be an easier way. When I tried install a microsoft windows disk it gives the blue screen, so it seems like a major issue.

B2 ERROR MSI Z68A-G43 (G3) help
-
have tried:
-Taking out the card and using the on-board graphics to flash the bios
to later version, No help. (during this process, the B2 error does NOT
show up)
-Upgraded the card to latest nVidia drivers, even uninstalled and re-installed them. No help.
-Upgraded all the drivers from MSI, i.e. chipset etc. through Live Update 6. No help.
When the card is in, I cannot even access bios, it just gets stuck at B2
screen for like a minute, and then carries on with the boot process. I
am able to play games etc. after the booting, but this error for sure
should not be there when the PC boots up. I didn't have any issues with
my old GT730 2GB GDDR5. I've read different forums saying that it might have
something to do with the mobo thinking that something has to be
connected to the on-board graphics; or that flashing BIOS helped a lot
of users, but not me :(.
I don't have a second PC to test the card on. -
thnx so much, my friend, i have the same problem (freeze after mflash H87-G47), now everything OK. Take care:)!
