How VTEC works

Or you could go for Turbo that adds more air and thus more fuel and scales with RPM. Just saying!

So why don't you just have cam lobes as tall as the lobe for the vtec? Delete the whole vtec run a tall cam profile. Boost in low end torque. So why vtec? MPG!

And burning more oil

So VTEC is just variable valve timing. But it's only active at high RPMs. Because at low RPMs your Honda will be dragging it's ass with your valves hanging open like that.

Since its moving so fast, what if the Synchronizing pin misses to engage the middle rocker arm

 Then it gets silent when my truck blasts bast these Civic Si.

If only Honda put this into their MX bikes...

What's the meaning of VTEC

I always bashed civics or any kind of japanese import for that matter without even stepping foot inside one. My friend got a civic si and when that vtec kicked in it brought such a smile to my face. I fet like a plane speeding down a runway and finally getting wheels off the ground.

Then you would except that, for example, Ford stands for "First On Race Day"? Or any and all of the other acronyms some people arbitrarily ascribe to it? My problem with that is there is no rational connection between "race inspired cosmetic enhancements" and a type of grain widely consumed in Asia any more than there is any rational connection to a company's founder and a "Fucked Over Re-worked Dodge". At least as a pejorative there IS a rational connection, even if it's just a stereotype.
