How young Africans found a voice on Twitter | Siyanda Mohutsiwa
wie Sie tun, machen, Film, Beispiel
What can a young woman with an idea, an Internet connection and a bit of creativity achieve? That's all Siyanda Mohutsiwa needed to unite young African voices in a new way. Hear how Mohutsiwa and other young people across the continent are using social media to overcome borders and circumstance, accessing something they have long had to violently take: a voice. Education is big for most of us and so is the cost of it. I have met many people who dream big but are held back because of limitations of time, networking, experience and money. Those limitations can be overcome and they are done so by the help of others around that person to support, encourage and donate into that person's life. My girlfriend Gift Nleko is one of those people. She has recently graduated college at Lamar University with a Bachelors in Psychology and wants to continue her education at Syracuse University’s Dual Master's Program in Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapy beginning Fall 2016. Unfortunately, the funding for this is dauntingly high and a full ride through the McNair scholars program fell through because of lack of funds. Please follow the link and donate to her future passion to help families and others. Thank you

An incredibly well done speech, I hope she is right and that this can help push for a brighter future for the many states of Africa.

I wanna give her a big round of applause. I've lived in South Korea, China and Japan, and I proudly say I'm a East Asian like she being a Pan-Africanist. Although we three countries share rich culture, we feel so disconnected and ignorant about each other's culture, often even own traditions. Take music for an example: we grow up listening to Western music instead of our traditional music, playing piano and guitar instead of our folk instruments. And we hardly get to experience other two countries' (traditional) music. It's a great irony that we know a lot about distanced places of Europe and America's music but barely know about our closest neighbor's music. Many of us die without knowing how much we actually have in common. I was very lucky to live in all three and experience them but otherwise I was blinded to know our heritage. Hope technology accelerates the communication between Asian youth and build peace.

She is beautifully intelligent and very well spoken about this all.
