Will it work from a broken phone and the home button is missing but will we still be able to use Touch ID after fixing

At 5m40s you have the orientation incorrect! It should be pointing right but you are pointing it downwards! Please see ifixit home button guide

Has anyone successfully gotten Apple to replace a broken home button on an out of warranty device? If so how much did it cost? The only other option here is to do it myself but then TouchID won't work so what the hell...
