Why don't you just use the correct finger, index finger, place it flat like a normal police fingerprint. Don't raise it off just move it around to program. It will eventually fill in the missing spots. It is not magic.

I am having the same problem. Do you know how to fix it?

I think those dust particles/dirt affects the fingerprinting.

U are all fucking dumb in the head when your active get Touch ID you hold you finger until it said remove finger then replace again

When my touch id can't read my fingerprints i just wipe the touch id with my cloth and it works just fine. Maybe it's dust covers the touch id.

My iphone 6 has problem after just 3 weeks of use. so i went to apple authorized reseller , they said it need to be restore. but during the restore, 'unknown error" message appeared again and again so my phone totally dead.  now I have to wait at least 1 one for replacement (they said repalcement but now Its difficult for me to trust Apple). I used a lot of Apple product, and now I have a bad image abt Apple.  I realized people just love the design, easy to use etc that Steve Job Made. After that not a single improvement except that finger ID, but thats only a TOY LEVEL TECHNOLOGY...   for people think they lucky, beware if the warranty expired.
Sorry for my bad english...  I m so dissapopinted with apple. if only android care about design, artistry etc, its far far  better then IOS, so I will never2 use iphone again!

I have the iPhone 6- just bought it three days ago brand new and I'm already having this issue. My phone many times won't even scan my finger and I'll have to unlock it using the passcode. So annoying. Why does Apple even advertise it if it works like sh*t

You need to clean the fucking sensor there is soo much gunk on that home button

Guys u have to remember which finger u used for Touch ID u have to use the finger u made it with :3
