http://www.ted.com What happens before a murder? In looking for ways to reduce death penalty cases, David R. Dow realized that a surprising number of death row inmates had similar biographies. I'm in favour of George Carlin's implementation of the death penalty

My college professor is a good friend of Dow so I got some cool insights into his life and his book.

Easy for him to say that "we" need to spend more money. Of course by "we" he means the government. Since the government produces nothing, they must take that money from someone else. That someone else happens to be me and anyone else who produces a product that others willingly pay for. If I thought that donating to some organization that could prevent this scenario, I would do it. Assuming I had the resources to do it. Unfortunately I don't thanks to...you guessed it...the government.
Now, the government currently runs Child Protective Services. Go look up Nancy Schaefer and Ted Gunderson. Why would spending more on an already corrupt system solve the problem? The best thing to do would be get rid of the aptly named criminal justice system and get rid of the child trafficking CPS. Get rid of the FHA, get rid of the corrupt banking system and then we WOULD have the resources to deal with the occasional case. Of course many Americans, liberals excluded, are giving people and the few cases that did come up like this would be handled efficiently and peacefully without the government intervening. -
Executioners do the same to the people who committed murders.

he was so generalised about his sons math problem you could see he was only trying to make it fit into his argument. if your son needs to learn algebra 1 or 2 or calculus. I'll give you my number lol

What Mr.David pointed out about dysfunctional families and how they make a person a murder is one thing I can strongly agree on. I have been reading a blog by a death row inmate known as Joseph Duncan and I do believe that what broke him was our system. If only they treated him right, he wouldn't have committed what he had committed. He was a 15 year old boy sentenced to 21 years in prison for molesting a boy. I believe he, himself was molested. I'm not going to say anything more because I might mix up the details but I did read his blog and I don't believe he deserves to be on death row. Maybe no one does.

Why keep them living until they die later in prison all while paying for them all those years from our taxes?
-
How do you fail to kill a child with a butchers knife? I'd actually like to know how it was only an attempt.
-
Honestly, I think I'd rather die that go to prison for the rest of my life.
-
But if we intervene and care for our kids early on, how will we get all those prisons filled?

*Is a lawyer but dresses like he just rolled out of bed for a speech. *

Why is it so difficult to look at other countries and see how they deal with these problems? Statistics prove that a good social system is something everyone will profit from. In certain circumstances every human can be driven to commit murder.
-
he seems to be implying that the reason we don't intervene is because it costs money.. No that is NOT the reason. The reason gov doesn't intervene is because gov doesn't GIVE A DAMN about crime. They are interested in putting people into jail, not keeping them out of jail. The whole process of catching, convicting and incarcerating prisoners, is an important part of gov activity. They are NOT interested in decreasing their work load. They want to INCREASE prisons, increase budgets to run the prisons. Hire more government workers. Do you really think that anyone with half a brain couldn't figure out that these dysfunctional families are the root cause of all the crime out there? Stop being so naive.. Maybe you also believe that big pharma is interested in curing all diseases hahahaha come on now.. open your eyes. Follow the money.

Poor Will, The way his life played out; he was executed before he was even born

money spent now on the vulnerable would be looked at as handouts. it seems nearly impossible to not be short sighted. we all are short sighted.
I agree early childhood care by educated educators would be helpful and would save lifes and money in the long run. -
Katya is going to leave him for a cyborg named Barry.
