MHD flasher is an Android app for tuning of the BMW cars with N54 engine. Basically, it transforms your already fast car into a really, really fast car. This video shows a process of flashing a stock (engine wise) car. My car has some modifications, like KW coilovers, Alpina B3 transmission flash and few other bibs and bobs, but the engine was pure stock with a bit over 100k miles on the clock. As part of the preparation for the flash I did: - replaced the coils - replace the spark plugs - ask your dealer to do the walnut blast After performing the MHD flash, I have no errors, no problems - and the car basically flies. Total cost of the flash - about $150 (plus all the required hardware, if you don't have it) Required hardware: - 1 device running Android 3.2 and up (some need to be rooted for the OTG operations), USB OTG compatible. - 1 K+Dcan cable. - 1 USB OTG cable. - good 10A battery charger (critical component, do NOT attempt without one) Book yourself good 2 hours of time, some courage and bravery is required. If you're iOS/iPhone person like me and a complete Android ignorant like me, get yourself a friend with decent Android device.
