Moto G - How to connect USB drive (OTG Support)

What is the software again??

Sir I have an I Ball phone which has lollipop version. I want to use all the features in my phone like OTG support , Keyboard , Mouse as shown in the above video. Do I have to root my phone ? would it be safe for my phone and memory card as well.
If yes please tell me the safest mode to root my phone.

Hi vikas, i have Moto G3 and i got new WD my passport untra HDD of 1TB. But its not getting detected by my phone (Pen drive of 8 GB is connecting properly to same OTG cable). Please help.

I could hardly make out what you were saying but got the gist of it, and by looking above I see that it suports the 1st Gen version, so I might go get a usb key so I can transfer stuff from pc and also possibly to Kindle fire, they all use the same Kit Kat system it seems to me, but I'm hearing bad things about ES File Explorer having too much adverts and bloatware on it
