Gary it really not to confusing about the auto FP at 250 or 320. You select Auto FP at 250 when you are not using Nikon Flashes. This is because Nikon says that flash sync speed is not supported at 250 with non nikon flashes. So effectively it will change to HSS mode when you hit 1/250 vice waiting to go 320.

Hi Guys! Can someone help to find a problem with my old Nikon D700. The camera is working fine without using flash. Also its ok with any code flashes without synch adapters on to the hot shoe. But when I use any flashes such as D900 or D800; the camera is not firing instantly and it takes a few seconds to fire. I tried all the setting but no use. Please advise me if this is due to wrong settings or any technical problems in the camera?

Does autoFP work with build-in Flash as well?? or only with external Flash or studio strobes?

I see that you can trigger an SB700 via the popup flash, IF you "turn off" the popup flash in the commander settings. If you set the popup to manual or TTL you can't take the shutter above 1/320. All of this would be simpler if Nikon documented this, which they don't seem to. Thanks so much for you help with all of this, Mr. Fong!

Using a Nikon D800 I am triggering an SB700 off camera via the camera's pop up flash. Apparently the pop up cannot work beyond 1/320, so I guess I'm out of luck with high speed sync with this setup. Right? If I attach the SB700 to the camera the I see I can take the shutter up to 1/8000.

Hi, i'm using this technique with a metz 45 cl -1 on manual. I have my camera set to manual and i'm selecting a shutter speed to match the aperture i want to achieve but i noticed that randomly the shutter speed is changing itself as if it were in aperture priority. Can you make sense of this please?

i have a nikon d7100 and altura ttl flash but when i go to change settings and apply and i shoot with my snoot half comes out black.. any1 helppppp meeee

i always had doubts about autofp, but you made it clear to me now thx, i didnt know if it syncs only up to 320 or more but up to 8000, i would never have suspected :D

Hi can You please help.. I'm new so actually people talk about shutter speed 1/250, 1/320 etc etc.. but I can't find how to set it in Camera.. I can only set shutter speed like this 2.5", 3", 4" 5".. & it really confuses me.. can u please help?

Hi, Mr Gary. Big fan of your work. Jjlad and Michael Anthony had some good points which I'm still not 100% clear on. So, if you have a Nikon d700, 2- SB-700 and PocketWizardsII that that mean you can not High Sync your camera unless you mount an sb-700 on your camera? If you have more.information on this, can you explain how to?
