#QQTD I like to build things. One time at work, I saw my coworkers get frustrated because because they would use this tool and it would waste 4 hours a day because it doesn't work well. There were 6 other engineers that use the same tool and it is horrible because if we don't use this, our new stuff won't get out to the web. We had to do it over again if it broke. I took the challenge and spent a few hours one week to fix it. And now we probably save like hundred of hours a week!

The most positive (Unclassified) work experience of Martin Bammes, so far.
In 2015 I was competing in the global data competition. We were teaching computers to interpret images of Mars.
The great thing about that, other than being awesome, was the epic people I got to work with.
The entire 18 person team that I worked with are still friends and colleagues today; professionals in all different companies. It feels really great knowing that I already have all my fantasy draft pics for tech startups.
2000-2002 was my best years of working for a Roofing company that was family owned. The son (Mike), was the President of the company. Took over for his dad. Listened, asked great and precise questions, reasonable, and showed some excellent wisdom. I really learned a lot and it helped me later when I was in business starting in 2007.

before last spring 2015. I wasn't doing shit. I let laziness control my destiny. I got really comfortable with the path I was on even tho I wasn't happy. I was working wit my father but I was just putting in the minimum effort. my brother offered me a job to work selling timeshare. I was never the type of person to sell shit or have a convo with complete strangers. since May this year I've become a completely different person. because I was really down and dead broke I had no choice but to put my feet to the fire. now I'm on my way to be a top seller.
Thanks Gary! This episode really hit home with me. There are many companies in the Cannabis Industry that have the "shit list," and I have taken the approach of full acceptance and unity. I see no other way with how many roadblocks our industry is up against.

Positive work experience: I absolutely hate working at my work (grocery store)... but I came to a point where I knew I could build my character by going hard every shift for my boss because I am his employee and I know what he wants out of me. I receive thanks and special treatment now. But don't get me wrong, I still hate working for other people, but I made positives from it and I don't think I would've gotten that experience any other way.

I know this is kind of old but after hearing you saying that you shouldn't put faith in anonymous sites I have to disagree with you a little bit. While yes I do agree that some times people are more likely to speak poorly about a person/company/whatever when they have the protection of anonymity I'm curious as to truly how much stock you should put into the comments? As someone who recently tried your advice (before hearing it actually) and ignoring the "negative reviews" on glassdoor for a company and trying to work there anyway I discovered just how accurate those comments were. Do you feel as though there is a certain point where negative comments aren't just people bitching but might have some truth behind them?
Hi Gary its months later but will leave comment anyway. One of the most positive things was the teamwork i experienced in retail loss prevention and later as special events coordinator for the same store. The opportunities to get things accomplished as a group small or large depending on the circumstances; happened on a daily basis. Loved that! Loved those people!
