Unfortunately, this problem is not a windows problem (my defender is off all the time and the arvo driver still freezes whenever i try to save a profile). compatibility with previous versions does not solve the problem as well. roccat just needs to update their damn software...

Hi with my Roccat kova when i try to install the new update it suddenly crashes and i can't do shit with the mouse. Pretty sure the next mouse im having is either razer or logitech because roccat is pure shit.

I got this to work but it stops working after I restart my computer
how I got it to work
1) Unplugging the mouse
2) Uninstalled the software
3) Restart computer
3) Install software
4) Plug mouse in
I'm also having the exact same problem with my challenger prime keyboard software. Its got to be something with windows 10 that's blocking it.I'm not using defender so I don't what could be causing this. -
Followed your instructions exactly. Wow! What a difference. Prior to adding the exclusions for the .exe files, it would take about 45 seconds for the changes to be "applied" to my mouse. I thought it was just a normal thing.
Big props to you Jazzmanpac for this info. -
This fix worked great for me! Thank you!

Hi, I'm using Windows 10 Pro 64 bits.
My 2012 Roccat Kova[+] works okay for basic tasks, but I'm having issue with its buttons while playing. I can't assign the middle button nor the side buttons to any action on the "Key binding" settings on Battlefield 1.
I tried downloading new drivers on http://www.roccat.org/fr-FR/Products/Gaming-Mice/Kova-Plus/ . I had to launch in Windows XP compatibility mode for the software to launch. Then, editing options relative to LED lights didn't have any effect on them, so I'm not so sure the driver actually works. Does anyone now if Roccat has abandoned support for the original Kova[+] mouse or am I the one doing it wrong?
Thanks for the help. -
thank you!

Thank you very much, this also worls on Windows 8 with the KOne+

I hate my Roccat Kone Pure for this problem. Solely this. The mouse itself is alright but off the top of my head I can think of five other manufactures with products better than Roccat's with simpler solutions to software and drivers. It shouldn't be up to the consumer to try and figure out why out software isn't compatible or malfunctioning, of course we can debug but why waste your time when all you're trying to do is play some video games and enjoy your hardware. This is my opinion but I'd say steer clear from these products until the company can better assess solutions for their software. For now, I'd personally recommend Logitech, SteelSeries, Razer, and Zowie.

This fixes the options from hanging when apply or ok is selected, but it does not fix the issue of the settinga that have been changed not actually taking effect.

great mice, with shit software. I don't have problem with crashing, but unused macros with .EXE profile files.
My tutorial for (Roccat Kone v1) and others!
1 driver download, install.
2 enter in:
3 C: Program Files \ (x86) \ ROCCAT \ Kone Mouse \ 64bit (OR 32)
4 Launch right file Administrator As (DPInst)!
Finished!
