Here in the UK or at least where I go, it is done waaaay differently. You have to attend appointments with absolutely no hair on your skin (I shave the night before) and absolutely no products - no deodorant, moisturiser or anything; you just shower and turn up. They use a laser gun that resembles an ultrasound scanner thing? Like with a screen looking part? So yeah, they cover you in thick contact gel and run the laser-emitting screen looking thing over your skin in a clothes-ironing motion. It hurts like a bitch but I'm now virtually hairless so yay!
