Method 4 failed while updating for me I guess. It completed the update and then restarted with a temp WOUTadim login and upon a second restart my personal admin login is missing and unresponsive. I don't have the password for the WOUTadmin and am completely locked out. 50/50 I screwed something up, but not too happy at the moment.
I had already tried first three methods to get all but one update - windows 7 64 bit sp1. I tried the fourth method, and it worked and downloaded everything, including kb976932. Everything went fine and updated fine, then the computer restarted. A second user, WOUTAdmin appeared (I think that's how it was spelled). I logged in on my usual user/admin account and an annoying popup came up which said "The publisher could not be verified.Are you sure you want to run this software?"

If I click "Run", It opends cmd and starts running commands, but a popup appears and says "Windows will shut down in less than ten seconds", and the computer is rebooted and the cycle repeats.

If I click "Cancel", the popup disappears. The computer is still the same as if none of the updates from WSUS Offline had been downloaded. I reran WSUS Offline again to see if the files were on my computer, and the files kept saying the server file was no newer than the local file, and it would not retrieve it. Apparently, all the updates are on my computer, but Windows does not know they are there. The Offline Update said it had to install Windows Explorer 11 since I was still running 9, but Explorer nor Windows were installed or updated. If I reboot the comp, cancel the popup, and run windows update as normal, it says I still need to download KB976932 (Windows 7 sp1 64-bit). If I try to install Explorer 11, I still get the same error that says I need to install sp1 first.

I don't understand why Windows isn't recognizing the updates because they are present, at least that's what WSUS Offline shows if I go through the update process again. I have spent two long weeks trying to get the sp1 update. Why doesn't Windows "know" or recognize the update KB976932 has been downloaded?

i can download and install updates , but when i restart system it says failure configuring windows updates i have this problem for like 1 year now, 1 year of no updates and i have tried everything
