My father survived helicopter crash with busted engine in the air, and he still flyes heli doday, recently had an incident where it almost happened again and had to land quickly. there is ways to prevent falling like a brick if the engine stops working explained in this video. and that exactly is what his pilot did when the engine failed.
Autorotation is not always possible. There is an airspeed vs altitude chart that you need to be within. This is why when you see helicopters take off from an air field they will use the run way to generate forward airspeed before altitude. It's more critical for single engine helicopters. Helicopters used for search and rescue that hover at low altitude with no forward airspeed are well outside the safe autorotation parameters and need to have a second engine for safety.
It is important to actually LISTEN to what he says. "If the propeller STOPS rotating". NOT If the engine stops working. Autorotation still ROTATES the propellers, they do NOT STOP. Therefore, he is right, it would land like a brick.

I know about auto rotation but the problem is that the tweet mention engine failure. If the engine failure comes from the rotor, auto rotation is no more possible.
This guy has almost spent 2 YEARS inside of a helicopter
