Most people tend to not want to appear as if they are growing older. However, the skin does not always work in keeping up the appearance of youthfulness. A lack of nutrition or contact with too much sunlight or toxins can cause the skin to begin to wrinkle and sag before its time. Some simple preventatives are to avoid staying in the sun for too long or at least use sunscreen. Ensure that enough water is being consumed over the course of the day. Dehydration breaks down the skins ability to stay smooth. Also use these simple 5 remedies to keep skin smooth and healthy. 1. Egg whites Egg whites build up a layer of protection on the skin called a 'hydrolipid', which protects the skin against germs and keep its elasticity. For this you will need: - 2 egg whites - 1 tablespoon of natural yogurt (natural or organic only since other yogurts have chemicals which can damage the skin). Beat and mix the egg whites with the yogurt Clean skin where it is sagging or wrinkling and spread a thin layer over that area Allow the mixture to sit for 30 minutes and then rinse Do not use this remedy more than 3 times per week 2. Aloe Vera Aloe Vera is a plant that is used to reduce wrinkles and signs of premature aging, while gradually removing scars and blemishes. For this remedy you will need: - 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel - 1 tablespoon coconut oil - 1 tablespoon honey Mix all three ingredients together Once it is smooth spread it over the face and leave sit for 20 minutes Use cold water to rinse and repeat this every second day 3. Cucumber Cucumber has more than 90% water and has properties that fight the effects of things that would damage the skin. Due to its high concentration of water it is ideal for lowering extra fat and removing dead skin cells. For this remedy use: - ½ a fresh cucumber - 1 tablespoon of sour cream (organic is best) Squeeze the juice from the cucumber into a sieve and mix it with the sour cream Once you have a thick past spread it onto the face, neck, and chest Leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse using warm water Do this 2-3 times per week 4. Honey Honey is high in minerals and vitamins, and is a natural moisturizer that can be used on all skin types. Here is how you can use honey to moisturize the skin: - 8 teaspoons of honey - Juice from ¼ of a lemon - 2 tablespoons of olive oil Mix the honey, olive oil, and lemon juice together in a bowl. Spread the mixture on the face and let it dry, then rinse with warm water Use this every night for at least two weeks 5. Rose water Rose Water is used not only for preventing the wrinkling and sagging of skin, it is also good for getting rid of blackheads or dead skin cells. For this recipe use: - ¼ cup of rose water - 1 teaspoon of lemon juice - 1 tablespoon of witch hazel Pour all of the ingredients into a container with a lid, close the lid and shake it to mix Using a cotton ball pat the mixture onto the face and chest every morning You can use this remedy daily. All of these remedies work well for treating the skin, and even if signs of wrinkles, sagging, or premature aging are not yet showing, these remedies can be used as a preventative measure.
