The U.S. athletics authorities knew long ago that marion jones wasn't clean,her parents knew also, from high school she used to dodge drugs test.

I know a lot about MERLENE OTTEY ' S Track&field career, in 1980 she started her first indoor season (at NEBRASKA UNIV;) with some tremendous performances over the 300 yds & 300 m a lot of world best, but more significantly some under 51 relay legs (50.7) those days very few black women athletes could run so fast,but MERLENE hated the 400m and only did when asked to by her coach GARY PIPIN, she is one of the few who ever the do the 100, 200 &400m at the NCAA. merlene with all of those 'back ground' work and coming off such an hectic college season won a bronze medal at the Moscow olympics under the AUSPICES OF 'ANA BOLIC STEROIDS' plus other drugs the Russians had invented.so in my opinion if merlene had (dabbled ) more in the 400m after she left university ( I saw her did it once)probably her medals at the Olympics would've been a different colour.

Sad to watch but a great feature on my favourite athlete and the greatest female sprinter of all-time. I wish this piece didn't focus on the 2000 race so much, should've revolved more around her races in 1992 and 1996 where she was a major favourite to win.

Still one of the greatest athlete that receives my greatest respect.

FloJo died of her drug abuse. Most of the women who competed against M.O. were on drugs. And most of todays sprinters are on drugs as well. I guess 8-10 years from now, we will know what Bolt is/was on.

so sad, to achieve so much and to will be looked as less than a champion.
