The Nucleus: Crash Course Chemistry #1
wie Sie tun, machen, Film, Beispiel
Hank does his best to convince us that chemistry is not torture, but is instead the amazing and beautiful science of stuff. Chemistry can tell us how three tiny particles - the proton, neutron and electron - come together in trillions of combinations to form ... everything. In this inaugural episode of Crash Course Chemistry, we start out with one of the biggest ideas in chemistry ever - stuff is made from atoms. More specifically, we learn about the properties of the nucleus and why they are important to defining what an atom actually is. Horrible, what's with all the mass numbers?? Confusing crash course.

Chemistry is the study of matter, but I prefer to think of it as the study of change.

nice and fun video

"the amazing and beautiful science of stuff" i'm so sold

5.54 you just spoke about silver. In italian its name is "argento", so for me it has some sense. I am an italian...

Notes-
Everything is made of atoms
Atoms are the smallest form of an element that can't* be broken down further
The nucleus makes up the vast majority of an atoms mass, although it is very small in relation to the whole atom (and therefore very dense)
Protons determine the identity of an atom, weigh the same as neutrons, and have a positive charge
Neutrons exist as a buffer between protons so that their repelling forces don't tear the atom apart
The strong nuclear force is the strongest of the four fundamental forces of physics
Relative atomic mass is the average of the mass of an element (Neutron + Proton)
Isotopes have different masses but the same chemical properties
Mass number is the total number of nucleons in the nucleus -
I'm a home school mom, and I am a fan. Thank you!

I love chemisy, biology and physics

I am taking a chemistry class next year, I am preparing with these videos for it. I am a nerd ๐๐ค
-
My question always was why an element isn't defined by the number of electrons it has if those determine its properties.

I dont like chemistry, it's a descriptive science, the scientists can't interfere with it's results, they only observe them. Physics on the other hand, has open the doors (like theoretical physics) for people to push their way into its rules. besides there is no chemistry, or any other science without physics, for only through forces, which is a physical idea, an atom exists.

Around 350 people of 3 million are stupid
Confirmed -
Can u teach us how to make Zyklon B
-
I love the colorful bright background and animation!!!! But of course I love the explanation !!
-
Can you please do electrons, element, compound, proton, electron.

This guy is so helpful just wish he could sit my a level chemistry exam ๐ญ

Any year eights here, starting to get your heads around basic chemistry?

people need to know that einstein is a fraud and a plagiarist. There are good evidences of it
