how do you invent this shit?

Am I the only one that fells like there are friction plates, springs, and bearings missing to the whole basis of this concept that go unexplained? There seems to be a fundamental flaw in what drives what here.
-
Is that any different than automatic locking differential?
-
An ingenious video describing an ingenious piece of mechanical engineering! Kudos!

trying to understand it as best as possible the only thing i dont fully understand it turning or going around a corner. so if its a left turn and the right tire needs to move faster how exactly is it done if they are both still meshed together with spur gears and seeing as the spur cannot drive the worm gear how does it change the function? anyone mind explaining this for me, maybe im just missing something
-
If I get this correct, this configuration allows only limited rotating differences (40% as show here) and this is probably determined by the worm and spur gear ratio. But since spur and worm gears are locked via worm wheel, left and right wheels can only rotate at the speed difference of exact 40% angular velocity. There's no in between options.
-
so if a worm gear can't turn another worm gear both axles will always turn together reguardless

The Torsen diff was used on 1996-1999 SS Camaro

Any chance of vid without this annoying watermark? Somebody stuck in 90s...
-
drive shaft has the wrong gear, it doesn't match up with the differential at all
also 0:47 no, they are both helical
someone fucked that up pretty bad -
this is disgusting....
-
essentially the wheel always has the ability to move faster than the input, just not slower than theinput
-
Does this differential work well with high power systems such as dragsters/driftcars?
-
so basical it will shit loads to manufacture and then disintergrate when i come along and dump the clutch in 2nd to impress my mates by doing a burn out
-
Where can i get a set of them Thunderstone Lightnings?
-
WARNING This video is total bunkum. The helicals do not act like worms. The whole explanation is fake WARNING

more bearings, smaller bearings... and that's supposed to be better? <shrug>
