I have a question. It's about welded differential amd limited slip differential.

Both of these method are used in a drift car. And if I'm not wrong these are not that bad for daily use. But, my question is does it affect the top speed of a car?

For example, Toyota Supra's are capable of reaching speed of 250kmph or more. If a Supra has either welded differential or limited slip differential, would it be able to reach that speed? Hlw will it affect the acceleration, handling and other performance of the car?

I'm searching for answer for this question. But I didn't get any satisfactory answer. I hope you can help me here.

LSD Technology: Somehow I suspect this is the butt of many jokes in auto engineering schools across the English-speaking parts of the world.

Well, my Wrangler had limited slip and it sucked. If you got in a muddy wheel rut, the one tire with no traction would spin like mad and the one you WANTED to spin would just sit there. Thus, leaving you stuck in the mud so I fail to see the value in limited slip.

This was a very shit explanation... compared to some others.

Anyone whose been stuck in the mud in Alabama knows you step on the gas, one tire spins, the other tire does nothing.

Ur getting unstuck or going over poor grip conditions in 1rst or second gear... but when cornering on highway in 5th gear what happens then.. how it affect probability for slipping out?
