my mac and PS3 are on the wireless network. Would UMS find the ps3 render (would it work )
This is sweet for me. I'll describe in detail. I already and still run minidlna because it does the job, however things like PS3's can get snobby with minidlna so I now run UMS as well. Here's the thing, the box it's running on (Intel Atom) doesn't have the guts for real-time transcoding, so out of the box UMS is completely unusable. UMS however, caches it's transcodes by default, and you can make the accessible by setting "hide_media_library_folder = false". So if something won't play in minidlna, then I can try UMS which certainly won't work on the first try, but if I come back an hour or so later, I can browse the cache and UMS will almost certainly play it. When I found this I was actually looking for a Flash 7 renderer, which UMS (just) fails at, but it's so good I use it everyday.

Saw this server on different tutorial but installed empty repo on Kodi. I downloaded the file you feature here. I am using. Nexus 7. Do not have a computer.How do I install it? I click on it and it says, cannot open file.
Am I trying to do something that just is not possible? I have a Sony Blue Ray Player, a smart hd tv, and my N7 with Kodi installed.

Is there a way to get Youtube to work in UMS after the April 20, 1015 update? I looked at the "Youtube.ch" on their site and it has the old "gdata" in the URL's so I assume it's not going to work.
