Well it's true, but it's also smart fucking marketing. Don't really understand the point they're trying to get across, as when it comes to advertising you grasp at all straws, especially in times of desperation.
You think all of the celebs, or even the president has a real following on twitter for example ?
No.. the reason behind it, is it's smart fucking marketing. -
Excellent talk, but I wish he'd have delved into paradigms of the new social media marketing economies.

This video changed my life! Thanks, Onion.

This is the best one. Perfectly captures the essence of Ted Talks.

The thought that there could be other life in the universe that's even lazier than us, lazy enough to create artifical life to do all the work, that then gains sentience and beings consuming anything and everything in the universe. That said life could be on the way here right now, and there is no possible way we could ever stop it, is pretty disturbing.
Oh well, the inevitable heat death of the universe will sort those mechanical bastards out eventually. -
any teenager could've done what we did, for no money, and much faster

"make it look like you work and people will pay you" that's how it was done in the communist bloc, everyone was paid more-less equally and stably (because socialism) whether you try hard or just pretend to work, so a lot of people realized this and only pretended to work, and still got paid. One of the reasons USSR collapsed, because nothing was actually done, although it was all glorious on paper.

Welcome to the Social Media-Industrial-Military Complex. It's just Twitter in bed with FaceBook who's in bed with Google who's in bed with Youtube who's.....

I hope they got Frito-Lay/Speed Stick to pay something for this.

This guy perfectly captures a majority of the individuals on Ted Talks.

Reality is no respecter of delusions, except perhaps in Del Boca, a model American community, struggling to be heard above the din. A social satire about life in our times.

Hmmm....I have to wonder if money changed hands in order for the Shell, Cheetos and Speed-Stick logos to show up. That's advertisement, and I don't think that The Onion can use the logos unless they're given permission.

It's scary how true this is.
